The Lorain County Urban League is giving the county another reason to smile with the launching of a new unique program. The Urban Youth Empowerment Program is a youth career preparation program designed to use education, work-related activities and community service to help all the youth in the county develop skills that employers are looking for in a 21st workplace. The goal of the program is to assist the youth to gain employment skills that lead to careers. The target age for the program is 18-21. Youth that are in-school, youth who have dropped out of school, youth who have graduated but are unemployed, employed part-time or have lost hope in finding a job can be part of this unique program. The program encourages youth that have been in trouble with the law to participate. If you are that person or know a youth that would benefit from the program, please have them contact the Lorain County Urban League @ 323-3364 and ask for either Tillie(ext. 33) Eddie (ext. 34) for additional information and an application.
