- A National Best Practice Model Program -
Through the In-School Mentoring Program, Lorain County Urban League recruits, and trains adults from the community to go into target school buildings.
Adult mentors encourage/support students who, for a variety of reasons, are not motivated or are at risk of dropping out of school.
Working in small groups of 10-15 students, mentors teach things like, decision-making, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Mentoring takes place in three school districts, Lorain, Oberlin and Elyria.
We are always looking for adults to mentor our young people!
To volunteer as a mentor or enroll a student in the program, you can call, 440-323-3364 x24 and ask for Peter Ogbuji or email pogbuji@lcul.org.
