Employment Services
"Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing."
Theodore Roosevelt

The Vision of the LCUL in this area of our work is that:
- Minority and other LCUL customers have equal access to applicable training,
- Secure employment and receive equal pay for equal work,
- Benefit from adequate career path development and continuous education, and
- Strong relationships with employers lead to increased access to available positions.
What we do
LCUL has established employment referral relationships with several companies in the region. Through these arrangements we are able to pre-qualify some clients who match the needs of the employers before we make referrals.
How we do it
We help clients to:
- Determine what they already know or need help learning (Assessments)
- Prepare resumes, cover letters, and evaluate their work experiences and skill sets
- Practice interviewing skills through simulated mock interviews
- Get their foot in the door with employers through Job Placements assistance
- Gain additional job skills through training
In addition to the above we also provide
- Referral and follow-up services
- Job Fairs and conferences
- Community re-entry preparation in collaboration with partners and the prison system
- Other support services through a variety of LCUL programs and partner agencies.
